How to get to ‘Big Data’?

SAP supports more than 500 start-ups since more than one year
Specific hardware architecture boosts BIG Data

In order to promote a new topic to a large user community, it requires special programs. SAP is pursuing this not only traditionally via their venture capital subsidiary SAP Ventures, but since March 2012 Startup Focus also a special initiative for external start-up companies, which is focused on the promotion of Hana applications.
In the last 16 months, the number of participants has grown to over 500 Startups from 54 countries, which are mainly located around the areas of big data, predictive analytics and real-time analysis derived.
As part of the Startup Focus program, the companies receive support in the form of technology, hotline support, resources, and get access to experts in the SAP environment. The aim is to increase time-to-market for the technologies developed based on SAP HANA.

What does this mean for you?

Own investments in Big Data should build on existing initiatives, including young companies that are dedicated to this topic. For managing mass data in the SAP environment, many young companies offer openess and energy to carry through with innovation and provide an SAP- independent view, even if they are supported by SAP. This approach allows utilizing SAP outside the crowd with the right entrepreneurial spirit.
